Thousands of years ago, when the emperor's wife who named Lei Zu,was out walking, she suddenly met a celestial fairy who jumped onto a tree with a head like a horse's face and a body like a long worm, spitting out fine silk and bearing white fruit. So Lei Zu ordered someone to go up the tree, but to her surprise the person threw the fruit into the hot water. When the people took it out again, they fished out a strａnd of fine silk, so Le Zu managed to weave the silk into a fabric, and thus silk fabrics came into being.
